North Central Utility (NCU) is looking for a self-motivated and results driven Human Resources Manager, to represent NCU in the semi-trailer industry. 

 

North Central Utility is one of the largest semi-trailer dealerships in the nation and the largest in the North Central region with 10 locations throughout Wisconsin, Minnesota and North Dakota. We offer reefer, dry van and flatbed trailers from Utility Trailer Manufacturing at all locations and vocational trailers from MAC Trailers in Wisconsin - we sell new and used semi-trailers. With Moore Space, we offer temporary storage container solutions as well. Our parts department has an extensive inventory in Heavy-Duty Truck/Tractor and Trailer parts. Our broad product line and geographic coverage ensures we are a “One Stop Shop” for truck and semi-trailer parts. Our service department offers everything from routine maintenance, certified DOT inspections to precision laser alignment, as well as complete wreck repair for trailers of all makes and models. No job is too big or too small for our skilled service technicians.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Reports directly to company owners 

• Responsible for administering benefits, compliance, employee relations, worker’s compensation, leaves of absence, Covid-19 response, onboarding, acquisitions, and payroll

• Collaborates with managers and staff at multiple store locations, providing consistent communication and compliance in all areas

• Administer comprehensive benefits, time reporting, FMLA, short-term disability, ERISA, unemployment, payroll-related data reports, internal policies and procedures

• Proactive, innovative and detail-orientated individual with outstanding interpersonal and reporting skills

• Solution-focused with exceptional attention to detail and long-range planning skills

• Experience working with multiple store locations in multiple states

• Current in all aspects of compliance:

  • FMLA/EFMLA/EPSL

  • C./STD/COBRA/U.I.

  • ERISA/ADA/ACA/HIPAA

• Proven experience managing benefits, payroll, leaves of absence and employee performance

• Highly skilled in HRIS managing staffing, onboarding, turnover and retention with associated reporting

• Advanced working knowledge of ADP Workforce and ADP Reporting is preferred

• Support company Recruiter with full-cycle recruiting for a variety of career opportunities throughout multiple locations

• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and experience with Facebook, LinkedIn, and other social media platforms

 

Qualifications: 

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred 

• SPHR, SHRM SCP certifications preferred

• ADP Workforce experience preferred 

• Previous experience required

• Demonstrate high level of business acumen

• Strong computer skills 

• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) & social media platform experience
